From the worldSix Quiet Galleries Make Room for Unrecorded Studio Time
cultural · denver · arc: the-verification · magnitude 0.42
On Sunday, Six Quiet Galleries approved a practice allowing a peer witness to confirm that an artist was present and working without logging the visit hour by hour. Under the new “sealed interval” arrangement, artists may designate part of a visit unwitnessed, but the visitor must say plainly where the account ends.
The galleries made the change after objections to the first published peer accounts. Some artists said those accounts documented less like provenance than supervised intimacy. Buyers will still be shown the gaps. The galleries have not determined whether California-accredited certifiers will accept them.

From the worldRiNo Overhead Workers Get Sunday Access to Tendon Scans
civic · denver · magnitude 0.28
Through June, the public clinic’s tendon-mapping van at the 38th Avenue test walls will run a Sunday drop-in line beside the RiNo maker corridor. Painters, sign crews, welders and other overhead workers can get a scan, a strength test and a referral without first filing a conventional work-injury claim.
The clinic added the line after wall crews filled the test-site appointments sooner than expected. Staff cautioned that a scan is not a fitness clearance. For many workers, the immediate help will be a clearer restriction, a brace, or a paid course of treatment while a shoulder can still be kept from becoming an emergency.

From the worldHigh Claims Court Puts 63,000 Gulf Housing Cases Back in Review

political · national · magnitude 0.66
The federal remnant’s High Claims Court has ordered the relocation service to reopen 63,000 Gulf-coast housing claims rejected by an automated residency screen. Evacuation records and informal multigenerational households, the court ruled, cannot be treated as evidence that a home was abandoned.
The ruling provides neither housing nor payment. It returns families to the queue and calls for human review when an address history conflicts with disaster registries. Receiving metros, already disputing the settlement places available, promptly asked how many of the restored claims would request an inland transfer.

In the houseCass’s Union Station Confirmation
between cass-oyelaran and teo-vance — cass-oyelaran: rivalry/strained · teo-vance: rivalry/declared · betrayal
At 3:11, the south shop smelled of wet concrete and hot metal. Teo had the grinder unplugged and was winding its cord around his forearm when Cass’s wrist screen chimed from the bench. A pale transit receipt opened across the steel: UNION STATION, TUESDAY 10:40. VANCE, DENNIS. MEET CONFIRMED.
Teo did not touch it. “What is that?” Cass shoved the screen dark with the heel of his hand. “He’s coming in. He asked if somebody would meet him.” Teo looked at him for a long moment, then at the sound cables Cass had spread across the bench as if they gave him a reason to be there. “Cancel it.”
Cass’s mouth pulled sideways. “He didn’t call you.” Teo set the grinder down harder than he meant to. “Cancel it.” Cass looked past him through the open freight door, where Sunday heat flattened the dead rail spur white. “No.” Teo’s face went still. “My father not getting through to me is not a job opening for you.” Cass said, too quickly, “That’s not what this is.” Teo pulled the shop door shut between them, leaving Cass on the concrete with the confirmation still burning against his wrist.

In the houseThe Gallery’s Subject Field
between ondine-marsh and wren-abadi and nuri-alvear — ondine-marsh: friendship/strained · wren-abadi: friendship/ended · betrayal
At 11:14, Nuri’s municipal deck was spread across the kitchen terminal in pale blocks of proposed shade. The incoming line blinked above it: QUIET GALLERIES / REVIEW. Nuri looked at Wren’s splinted thumb, then at Ondine carrying a tray of wet contact sheets out of the darkroom. “It’s for you,” they said, and slid the sound open before Wren could decide not to.
The curator’s voice asked whether Wren wished to authorize a sealed review interval while the consent complaint was assessed. Wren stood with one shoulder against the sink, rainwater darkening the hem of her jeans from the clinic corridor. “No.” The curator began again, more carefully: whether Wren objected to exhibition only, or to the attribution record. Wren watched Ondine set the tray down. “I do not consent to exhibition, review, or calling this a dispute between us,” she said. Her good hand closed around the edge of the counter. “I thought I was alone when she took it.”
Ondine did not touch the camera at her hip. “I didn’t know that,” she said. Wren looked at her then, not long enough to be mistaken for an opening. “You didn’t ask.” Nuri reached across the terminal and killed the live transcript before the curator could offer another category. The curator said the gallery would issue its decision within three days. Wren ended the call without saying goodbye.
