From the worldShoulder-Care Route Lets Overhead Workers See a Strain Before Treatmenttech · front-range · magnitude 0.34

At its RiNo and Aurora stops, the shared Front Range shoulder-care route added portable load-mapping rigs Friday. Painters, sign crews and other overhead workers can use them to see which parts of a lift are shifting force into an injured tendon before treatment begins. The rigs do not replace imaging or a clinician’s assessment; they make a short appointment usable as a work-restriction plan.

Weekend slots will stay open through June, the program said, with priority for workers already referred through the 38th Avenue wall crews. For anyone whose work depends on reaching overhead, the practical difference is a warning before a complete failure.

A container berth in Mombasa completed the freight authority’s first full autonomous quarantine turn Friday. Mobile inspection machines isolated and sampled a suspected invasive fungal shipment, sealed the affected stack, traced its handling chain and cleared 11,400 neighboring containers in nineteen hours while adjacent berths continued loading.

The final cultures found no active pathogen, according to the authority. Port operators from the Indian Ocean trade corridor had watched the test because earlier containment methods meant stopping entire terminals for days. Insurers called the successful turn a likely model for high-volume ports during future biological alerts.

At 7:12 a.m., the loading bay smelled of wet brick and roller solvent. Hollis sat on an overturned paint bucket with her brace strapped beneath her shirt, re-taping the handle of a long roller with her left hand. Cass was crouched beside the audio cases, sorting charged pickups into foam slots, when his wrist lit with DENNIS VANCE.

He read the message once and went still. Monday. Denver. Tell Teo yourself, or I will. Across the bay, Ondine had clipped a wet contact sheet to the line beside her wash tray. Cass crossed to it because his own bent shoulder was there in one of the frames: cream envelope on the kitchen table, his bare feet under the chair, his face turned down over Dennis’s handwriting. There were six exposures.

“You took these last night,” he said. Ondine did not reach for the sheet. “Yes.” Cass laughed once, without amusement, then thumbed a message to Teo: Dennis offered to clear my housing attachment if I gave him your location. I refused. He says he is coming Monday. Hollis watched the send mark appear and pressed the tape flat around her roller handle. Cass looked at Ondine again. “You do not get my mail, my money, or my face again.” Ondine nodded, small and exact. “All right,” she said. She left the contact sheet dripping on the line.
