From the worldAssembly Keeps Ward Inquiry Records in Public View
civic · denver · arc: the-mayor · magnitude 0.56
The escort-service contractor wanted its records dispute heard only by a closed procurement panel. Denver’s Assembly refused, preserving the wider subpoena and scheduling the first evidentiary session for public view next week. The contractor can still challenge particular disclosures, but Assembly counsel said the city could not examine the contract while permitting the service to decide what was relevant.
The vote makes no finding of misconduct by Mayor Elias Ward. It does, however, widen the inquiry’s reach. Payment routing, dispatch logs and the city offices that approved renewals are all expected to come under argument in open session.

From the worldArt Pool Will Pay Wall Crews When Verified Storms Cancel Shifts
economic · denver · magnitude 0.31
Last week’s hail stopped lifts across RiNo. In response, Denver’s arts pool has created a limited rain-day guarantee for registered exterior crews. When a site operator verifies a weather closure, a cancelled high-work shift can now receive a basic day payment. The pool said the measure is intended to keep a week of spring storms from turning into a month without work for painters, riggers and surface crews.
The payment remains modest and excludes materials. Mural contractors said it could determine whether a crew can wait for a wall to dry instead of hurrying back onto it.

From the worldOrbital Yard Opens With First Three Dead Satellites for Dismantling

tech · global · magnitude 0.66
Seven years after construction and licensing began, the Pacific Orbital Recovery Yard accepted its first three defunct communications platforms Tuesday at its high-orbit depot. Tug crews will remove usable arrays, processors and structural metals, then compact the remaining material for controlled disposal.
The operators acknowledged that the yard’s first-year capacity is small compared with the debris already accumulated. Even so, insurers and launch firms had contracted removal slots before the opening. For owners of aging satellites, the yard offers a practical alternative to leaving costly hardware above the atmosphere until it fails into someone else’s path.

In the houseNuri’s Revised Deck
between ondine-marsh and nuri-alvear and teo-vance — ondine-marsh: rivalry/declared · nuri-alvear: rivalry/unspoken · work
At 6:42 p.m., rain ticked hard against the loading-bay glass, too thin to clean the mineral smear at its bottom. Nuri stood at the common-room table with the commission notice open: AUTHORSHIP CLARIFICATION REQUIRED BEFORE CONTINUED REVIEW. Ondine came in carrying a strip of wet negatives and stopped when she saw her shoulder, blue-lit and small, held between Nuri’s panels. Teo sat at the far end of the table scraping slag from an alignment gauge with a pick.
“The correction says the photograph stays if its maker is credited,” Nuri said. Their thumb hovered over the revision field. “You could have said that yesterday.” Ondine laid the negatives beside the sink without looking away from the screen. “You said you made it.” Nuri laughed once, with no amusement in it. “You wanted to make sure I lost in public.” Then they pulled the portrait out of the deck, closed the gap with a grey transit facade, and sent the revised file before either of them could improve the sentence.
The receipt blinked accepted. Teo looked up only then. “That one’s yours,” he said to Nuri, meaning the deck, not the room. Nuri shut the panel. Ondine picked up her negatives and carried them into the darkroom. She did not close the door all the way, but she did not offer another image.

In the houseCass’s Occupancy Dispute
between wren-abadi and cass-oyelaran — wren-abadi: rivalry/strained · cass-oyelaran: rivalry/unspoken · betrayal
At 7:05, Wren found the amber dispute flag while the north studio wall terminal warmed beneath her hand. SUN VALLEY LAND COMMONS had moved her application from review to contested occupancy. Cass was at the playback table, winding cable around his elbow with a care that made her want to tear it loose.
“You did this.” She turned the screen toward him. The notice named no filer, but it quoted the warehouse address and the second resident assertion word for word. Cass looked at it for too long. “I disputed it,” he said. “Because if your form says I do not live here, the housing review gets to decide where I do.”
“That form was for my studio.” Her voice came out sharp enough to flatten the room. Cass put the cable down. “I know.” He did not say sorry. Wren touched the withdrawal option, then stopped when the screen warned that a new application would lose its capped-rate place in queue. Cass watched her read it. She left the flag burning between their names and walked past him without taking her coat.
