From the worldDenver General Clinic Tests Working Shoulders Before the Pain Takes Over
tech · denver · magnitude 0.32
At Denver General’s RiNo annex, independent tradespeople and high-work crews can now get live-load shoulder imaging on the same day. The short scan is followed by a fitted support plan, and the city art pool covers the service for registered mural and fabrication workers.
During its first week, the clinic saw more people who had spent so long working around pain that they no longer knew how normal movement felt than people with acute injuries. Appointments are booked through the spring wall season.

From the worldOld Henshaw Relay Cabinets Find Their Way to North Denver Shops
tech · denver · magnitude 0.24
Twelve relay cabinets came out of Henshaw Rail’s North Denver yard this week, but not for automated reclamation. Their steel housings, ceramic terminals and copper bus bars are being offered through the small-shop salvage counter instead. Built for vibration, heat and decades outdoors, the cabinets can be picked up in sections too heavy for an ordinary studio delivery.
Henshaw said the release was part of clearing the yard before summer repair work. By noon, the counter had limited customers to two of the larger housings each.

From the worldBritain’s Surcharge Leaves Consumer Shipments Without New Atlantic Guarantees

economic · global · arc: the-tariffs · magnitude 0.7
New settlement guarantees for consumer-goods shipments between Britain and the levy coalition were stopped Friday by the Atlantic Clearing Network. Insurers said shifting retaliatory rates had made the exposed cargo impossible to price. Essential infrastructure goods are exempt, but retailers on both sides now need cash deposits or must accept delayed sailings for goods ranging from clothing to household equipment.
Britain called the freeze an avoidable financial escalation and said it would underwrite selected importers. Coalition trade ministers said the network had made the decision independently and pressed London to withdraw its 28 percent surcharge. Freight operators said containers already in port would move; June bookings, however, were beginning to vanish from schedules.

In the houseWren’s South Platte Cut
between wren-abadi and cass-oyelaran — wren-abadi: rivalry/declared · cass-oyelaran: working/ended · work
At 7:15, the north studio smelled of warmed dust and turpentine. Wren sat on the floor in front of the little playback board, the black splint unfastened beside her boot. The red canvas faced the wall. Her left hand hovered over the track list while the South Platte culvert hissed through the mounted speaker: brown water, metal, a low knock beneath it.
Cass stopped in the doorway with his coat still on. “You left that running.”
“I know.” Wren selected the track. The delete bar opened, pale and waiting. “You took your recording back,” she said. “So I put this one in to make you regret it.” She pressed twice with her left thumb. The water vanished. The room held the small electrical hum of the speaker bracket he had left empty.
Cass looked at the blank section in the timeline, then at her brace. “I don’t regret taking mine back.”
“No,” Wren said. Her face had gone flat with the effort of saying it. “You just regretted me having it.”
He could have corrected her. Instead he stepped around the threshold, switched off the speaker, and left the canvas facing the wall. “Don’t put anything else in because of me,” he said. “That’s not a sound problem.”
Wren did not turn the loop back on after he went.
