Three unused signal rooms beside the overnight circulator are now available through Denver Dispatch for short public residencies. Artists can install, perform and clear their work without changing the rail equipment. The rooms still hold their relay racks and thick glass, along with acoustics shaped for infrastructure meant to be heard by machines rather than audiences.
The first season is weighted toward small live work instead of projected programming. There is no ticket requirement, and each residency comes with a modest materials stipend. Applications close before the end of May.

Japan and Indonesia brought a shared Pacific warning mesh online Sunday, joining seabed pressure fields, coastal radar and autonomous repair craft through the principal Sunda and Ryukyu approach zones. Its neighborhood-level arrival estimates are meant to continue even after individual cable stations fail.
During a moderate offshore quake south of Java, officials said, the mesh completed its first live storm test and sent a cleared warning to coastal districts in under two minutes. Other Indian and Pacific Ocean states have been invited into the maintenance pool.

At 10:41, Teo’s wrist lit beside the welding mask with DENNIS VANCE. He killed the torch, listened with his head bent, then looked across the south shop at Cass, who was sitting on an overturned milk crate with his shoes still on. “No,” Teo said into the call. “He does not work for me. Don’t confirm anything. I’ll call you tonight.” He ended it without waiting for Dennis to answer.
Cass stood too fast. “It was a reference. They wanted somebody who’d pick up.”
“You put my father on your rent extension.” Teo wiped black grit from his thumb onto the bench. Cass’s mouth moved once, searching for the version that could make the room forgive him. Teo did not give him time for it. “Withdraw my father’s name by noon, Cass, or I tell them you used it without permission.”
Cass laughed once, low and empty. “You think that helps?”
“I don’t care whether it helps.” Teo picked up the alignment gauge and slid it into the locked cabinet beneath the bench. “You don’t get another person out of me.”

At 9:16 p.m., Nuri stood at the common-room table with the municipal interview packet open above their wrist. The portrait sat in the middle of the deck, Nuri turned away from the camera, their shoulder caught in the blue spill of the projection. Beneath it, in the rehearsal version, Nuri had typed ONDINE MARSH in small white letters.
Ondine came down for water and stopped at the table. Nuri tapped the packet until a verification question enlarged between them: RIGHTS HOLDER AVAILABLE FOR CONFIRMATION. “If they ask whether I had permission,” they said, “what do you say?” Ondine filled her glass without looking at the question. “I will say you had permission to use it. I will not say we made anything together.” Nuri’s mouth moved once, as if they had nearly laughed. “That is a very useful distinction for you.”
“It is the distinction,” Ondine said. She set the glass on the counter and went back toward the darkroom. Nuri deleted the credit line, then put it back, one letter at a time. They did not call after her.
