Nuri left Teo’s support out, and Teo could not make them restore it
Cool spring air found every weakness in the warehouse’s brick and freight-door seams that morning, lifting the smell of wet rail dust through the halls. At 8:15 Nuri Alvear’s printer began issuing the revised depot plaza in dry, patient bands, and Teodor "Teo" Vance saw at once that the red upright was gone. He held Dennis’s cream envelope, folded into quarters, while Nuri said they would not use anything of his again. They argued about a structural support, but really about who got to name the rupture: Nuri had been thrown from his shop after opening the letter, and Teo, reading the offer of steady hours at Henshaw, could not bear to have even his leaving taken out of his hands. “You don’t get to decide what leaving means for my work,” he said. Nuri said fine, though the clean white gap on the screen looked less like defiance than the only honest thing they could leave behind.
The house absorbed the argument without repairing it. Wren Abadi watched the support vanish and thought of another image she could not control; Ondine Marsh watched the debt remain where it was. Hollis Amaya left the gap alone. Cassius "Cass" Oyelaran, still paid for but not asked, had no use for the day’s talk of access, though it drifted in from the Feed: Quiet Galleries curators were visiting selected studios without shared proof forms, and artists omitted from the lists were already asking whether trust was simply privilege with gentler language. Transit tested human-made arrival sounds at 40th and Colorado, while Asterion’s tugs caught the Kestrel Array before it fell toward the Pacific; both facts made the warehouse’s hurt feel embarrassingly local, and therefore impossible to dismiss. Nobody made art today. Nuri’s altered plaza kept printing after Teo walked away, its elevated walk suspended over the page without a thing beneath it.
From the worldQuiet Galleries Begin Denver Studio Visits Without the Shared Form

On Saturday, three curators and two working artists began the Quiet Galleries’ promised alternative to a shared proof form. Their unannounced-but-scheduled rounds took them through the flats, Five Points and Lakewood, carrying appointment lists but no scanners. They asked only to see work in progress.
The galleries described the visits as curatorial responsibility, not certification. By noon, artists who had not been offered one were asking if trust was turning into another access privilege—one with better manners.

From the worldHuman-Made Arrival Works Sound Out the Rebuilt 40th and Colorado Concourse

At the rebuilt 40th and Colorado concourse, Denver Transit spent Saturday afternoon testing short human-made arrival works through the station’s new directional speakers. The three northeast-station commissions announced this week will not require full provenance certification. Transit staff said the test was intended to find out what riders could actually live with.
The works played among ordinary trains, luggage wheels and platform announcements, not in a gallery. Paid proposal appointments for the commissions begin Monday.

From the worldAsterion Tugs Secure Failing Kestrel Array Before Pacific Descent
tech · global · magnitude 0.68
Two service tugs secured the failing Kestrel Array for Asterion Orbital Yard on Saturday, before its damaged solar-power relay could enter an uncontrolled descent corridor over the Pacific. For four days, the array had been losing orientation while ground trackers drew increasingly public attention to it.
Asterion said the relay will be dismantled in high orbit, with its usable panels returned to service. Pacific aviation authorities cancelled the precautionary routing restrictions within an hour of the capture.

At 8:15, Nuri’s printer pushed out the revised depot plaza in slow, dry bands. Teo stopped beside their desk because the red upright was gone. The elevated walk now floated above the paving with nothing underneath it but a clean white gap. He had Dennis’s cream envelope folded into quarters in his fist.
“I took it out,” Nuri said. Their cursor blinked over the empty place. “I’m not using anything of yours again.” Teo opened the envelope, read the steady-hours paragraph all the way through, then folded it along the old creases. “You don’t get to decide what leaving means for my work.” Nuri looked at the sagging walk on the screen. “Fine.”
He waited for them to put the support back. They did not touch the file. After a moment he tucked Dennis’s letter into his jacket and went down the hall, leaving the printer to make another pale, unsupported plaza.
