On Friday, the Cache la Poudre Conservancy started a four-day controlled release into restored wetlands east of Greeley. The water was held back from spring runoff, and the timing is meant to reach the sedge beds before the heat does. It should reconnect two shallow oxbows and give nesting birds one season before the channels dry again.

Denver's July schedule will not change; this is not a new allocation. The conservancy said the release became possible when growers, the city and the local water bank agreed beforehand to leave a small, timed volume in the river instead of disputing it once the river had fallen.

A rebuilt freight-loop retaining wall under the 38th Avenue viaduct has passed acoustic testing, and Denver Arts and Transit is opening twenty evening slots there for unamplified and low-power works. The tests found that small performances would not carry into nearby residences. Artists receive a flat attendance fee, with neither a sales requirement nor an obligation to make the work recordable.

The arrangement stays deliberately small: forty-five minutes per slot, two crews on site, followed by a public booking draw next week. The city said the program gives purpose to a space that grew quieter than planners expected after the freight loop reopened.

The Mare Imbrium Clinic announced Friday that a patient-matched bone-marrow line had been maintained in lunar gravity for a full year. Enough healthy precursor cells were returned for three staged treatments on Earth, and the line stayed genetically stable through transport and re-entry. The result could reduce the need to find a new donor for repeat marrow repair.

The first recipient is a former mine worker in northern Chile whose marrow was damaged by radiation treatment. They have begun the final infusion series in Santiago. Independent teams in Cape Town and Busan have received samples and protocol records for review.

At 1:12, Cass was kneeling beside the loading-bay threshold, taping labels onto the riverfront cable trunks while the freight door admitted a white slice of heat. His wrist screen chimed against the concrete: DENVER ARTS AND TRANSIT / 38TH AVENUE EVENING POOL / PROVISIONAL PLACEMENT. Beneath it was Hollis’s name as submitting artist.

He looked up. Hollis stood by the hand truck with her right arm held too still inside the overshirt, clinic brace showing pale at the cuff. “You put me on this?” he said. “It is low-power,” she said. “They opened twenty slots.” Cass let out a laugh that did not reach anywhere. “You know I need money, so you enroll me in a little public rescue.”

Hollis dragged the good hand down the edge of the site map. “Riverfront is the last thing you do for me,” she said. “Take the viaduct slot or don’t, but I put your name there because it ought to be there.” Cass folded the screen dark against his palm. “You do not get to know what I ought to take.” He went back to the cables, but he did not withdraw the placement.
