From the worldBrighton Water House Sends Recovered Water to Eleven Studios
environmental · front-range · arc: the-reservoir · magnitude 0.46
On Monday, the process-water house on Brighton Boulevard completed its first full recovery run, sending filtered rinse and wash water back to eleven small studios after contamination screening held through the weekend. The water is not potable. It is available for cleanup, cooling and some shop processes that would otherwise use protected municipal baseline water.
For June, the program set collection windows in advance instead of making studios bid for queue space. Users said knowing when they could bring material mattered nearly as much as the lower cost. The house still cannot accept every solvent-heavy waste, and most of its first two weeks are already spoken for.

From the worldShoulder Route Brings Earlier Care to RiNo and Sun Valley Crews
tech · denver · magnitude 0.35
After its first month showed overhead workers waiting until tears or nerve compression had worsened, Denver’s mobile shoulder-care route is adding two same-week treatment days at worksites in RiNo and Sun Valley. Assessment crews will carry portable tendon imaging and guided repair planning, and clinicians will continue making modified-duty referrals during the same appointment.
The route serves sign, utility and mural crews, for whom stepping away can mean surrendering a wall, a shift or a contract. Organizers stressed that it is not a substitute for hospital surgery. Its purpose is to make earlier, less dramatic options available before surgery becomes the question.

From the worldRepair Vessel Recovers Twenty-Three Months of Pacific Current Data

tech · global · magnitude 0.58
A repair vessel reached three instruments from the Pacific Deep Array that had been considered lost in the 2073 typhoon season, restoring a twenty-three-month gap in the North Pacific current record. Two instruments were still sending intermittent raw measurements. The third had kept its archive behind a failed relay.
The recovered record supports a slower, warmer subsurface shift that modelers had suspected but could not distinguish from the missing data. Ocean modelers said the finding will change seasonal fisheries and storm forecasts around the basin. Array directors cautioned that it does not, on its own, establish a new long-term circulation regime.

At 5:41, the north studio had gone the color of old tin around the windows. Wren was scraping a dry ridge from the first 38th Avenue panel when Cass shut his recorder case without checking the last level. His wrist lit once with a Brighton Water House shift notice, then went dark under his sleeve.
"You won't be there tonight," she said. Cass looked at the panel rather than at her. "I am behind on rent, and Brighton has me after six; if we want the opening, we make it before then." He said it quickly, as if the sentence could not be allowed to settle anywhere in the room.
Wren put the scraper down. She opened the wall schedule, dragged tomorrow's sound check to 6:30, and moved her own primer work to four. "Then we start before they unlock the lift," she said. Cass gave a short, surprised breath. "That isn't—" "It is the wall," Wren said, already stirring the pale ground. He picked up the recorder case again and stayed until the light was gone.

At seven forty, the south shop still held the night’s cool. Hollis stood over a sheet of brick-colored paper, marking tomorrow’s ground routes with her left hand while her right arm stayed inside the brace. Teo ground an edge at the welding table. Ondine came in with two recovered-water cans and set them by the sink without taking out her camera.
“My foreman asked if I wanted site access tomorrow,” Ondine said. “For the start.” Hollis kept drawing. The marker made a dry, skipping sound. “And?” “I said no.” Hollis looked up then, not grateful. “How did he get your name?” Ondine’s mouth closed. Teo killed the grinder. “Doesn’t matter,” he said. “It matters,” Hollis said.
She thumbed open her work screen and dictated the message without moving her right arm. “Do not credential Marsh, do not give her the call sheet, and do not use her to document my crew.” The send tone was small. Ondine looked at the blue route lines, then picked up the water cans again. “All right,” she said. Teo watched her carry them back out, and neither woman called after her.
