A 19–12 vote by Denver’s Charter Assembly will pay for a 120-person Resident Review Corps. The members will be selected by lot from trained applicants and paid enough to step away from ordinary work during case weeks. This autumn, they will begin hearing a limited docket of disputed housing, benefits and permit decisions, whether or not the Right to a Human measure makes the ballot.
Supporters said the vote showed that review chosen by residents could carry real authority instead of serving as ceremony. Opponents answered that the small opening docket could leave the city’s decision systems with little more than a human-looking final screen.

On Friday, the Globeville worker commons began selling its first lots of traceable remelted short steel. The small-angle, plate and bar stock comes with records covering intake, melt and load testing. There is not enough for a tower contractor, but the lots fit the railings, frames, fixtures and repairs that independent shops have long made from anonymous salvage.
The commons kept the first run near the price of ordinary recycled stock. Its stated aim was to make local documentation practical, not precious. By midday, every slot at the loading bay was booked.

Initial partners in Kenya, Brazil, India and northern Australia said regional batches could begin within months. The coalition will keep a safety board in place after several commercial producers warned that open access might weaken quality control.

Monday is not yours.” Cass’s mouth worked once. “You need the ground panels.” “I need people who don’t announce my body to a channel full of strangers.” He pulled the last cable free, coiled it tighter than it needed to be, and said, “All right.” Hollis turned back to the paint map before he could make it sound like permission.
