Small workshops below the district-demand threshold will get another eight days of daytime cooling from Clear Creek's thermal bank. The reserve covers metal, print, paint and repair spaces, after the bank's heat exchange outperformed its forecast during the latest run of ninety-degree afternoons.

Larger contracted recovery loads will be shifted to after midnight, when the regional grid has more capacity. Operators said the arrangement can hold through August 8 if overnight temperatures fall as predicted. A sustained heat ridge would require another allocation decision.

From the worldDenver Clinics Put Shoulder Braces Within Reach of Overhead Workerstech · denver · magnitude 0.37

Muralists, lift operators and other overhead workers referred through Denver's new tendon-imaging pathway can now receive load-sharing shoulder braces at public clinics in the same week. The lightweight frames move part of a raised arm's holding load across the torso, and clinicians can adjust them after reviewing the imaging instead of waiting for a specialist.

The devices are not clearance to work through tears or numbness, clinicians said. Each of the first fittings comes with a reduced-lift plan, follow-up scans and paid rehabilitation time through the injury pool.

At six fifteen, the cooling unit in the common shop rattled above the worktable while Nuri rehearsed the commission panel on the wall. Hollis sat beneath it with her bad arm tucked inside her shirt, reading clinic-brace coverage on her feed. Teo came in for a box of fasteners, saw the red lattice holding up the rendered transit shelter, and stopped with the box half out of the drawer.

“That’s your loading door,” Hollis said before Nuri could minimize the window. The bracket sat behind the shelter figures, cleaned up and enlarged, its crooked gusset made graceful by civic teal light. Nuri said, “I had the photograph.” Teo set the fastener box down hard enough to scatter washers. “You had no photograph of that.” Nuri’s mouth tightened. “I saw it.”

Teo looked at the red shape, then at them. “You do not get to make my refusal into municipal furniture.” Nuri did not close the panel. “It’s the best thing in that frame,” they said. Hollis stood, slowly, and took her brace pocket in her good hand. Teo pushed the drawer shut. “Then win it without me,” he said, and left the washers shining across the concrete.

At 6:42, the loading bay was holding onto the day’s heat despite the thermal-bank fan clicking above the freight door. Wren stood at the utility sink rinsing grey-blue from a jar when Cass came down the stairs with his terminal already open. He did not greet her. Riverfront’s review form lit his face: DID THE SUBMITTED PLAYBACK CHAIN HAVE A SHARED ORIGIN?

Wren dried her hands on her paint rag. “They finally asked you.”

“They asked whether I wanted to contest it.” His thumb hovered over the two answers. The fan knocked once in its housing. Wren looked at the freight door instead of him. “You had a week.”

Cass selected I DO NOT CONTEST SHARED ORIGIN. The confirmation blinked, then settled into the record. “They asked whether you were lying,” he said. “I said no.”

She took the jar to the drain and tipped the blue water out slowly. “That doesn’t make the license ours again.”

“No,” he said. His terminal chimed with Riverfront’s receipt. “It makes it expensive for them to pretend it was only mine.”

Wren set the empty jar upside down beside the sink. She did not say thank you. Cass waited long enough to make it clear he had expected nothing, then went back upstairs before the cooling fan could catch up with either of them.
