From the worldWall Commons Gets Shoulder Crews Answers Before the Queue
tech · denver · magnitude 0.34
Painters, sign crews and lift operators can now get same-day shoulder imaging at Wall Commons, which put a compact musculoskeletal suite into service Tuesday. Hail and heat had stalled their work. During a fitting visit, the suite can map common cuff and nerve injuries, print a brace with limited load capacity, and send cases requiring treatment into the city clinical network instead of the general queue, where waits run for weeks.
The first appointments went to crews already flagged in last week’s scans. Commons staff said the purpose was not to return people to the walls sooner. It was to give small contractors enough information to tell a damaged shoulder from ordinary fatigue.

From the worldA Brief Rain Break Leaves Lower Denver Cooler and Under Water
environmental · denver · magnitude 0.23
Rain reached Denver after midnight along a thin monsoon edge, bringing temperatures down into the high sixties. The uneven band ran from Five Points through Commerce City. The South Platte rose only modestly, while the old rail underpasses became their familiar shallow brown lakes until drain crews cleared them.
The cooler weather is expected to hold for one day. Parks staff reopened the river viewing route by late morning. At the South Platte Promenade, the dusk installations remained on schedule, with projection crews fitting rain shrouds over their equipment.

From the worldFirst Protected-Cargo Claims Go Out as Liverpool Challenges the Split

economic · global · arc: the-tariffs · magnitude 0.61
The Atlantic Clearing Union began issuing compensation Tuesday under the ninety-day protected-cargo extension. Verified claims for delays and price losses went to carriers, port cooperatives and food import pools on both sides of the Atlantic. The payments allowed several delayed cargo chains to continue without new reciprocal duties.
Liverpool’s port authority objected as soon as its settlement came in below Rotterdam’s for comparable refrigerated traffic. It said the formula made consumer loss easier to recognize than disruption at the docks. British trade ministers said they would pursue emergency arbitration rather than suspend the protected lanes. The truce remains in place, but its first real test has left it contested.

In the houseVance’s Relay Receipt
between cass-oyelaran and ondine-marsh and nuri-alvear — cass-oyelaran: rivalry/strained · ondine-marsh: rivalry/strained · betrayal
At 8:12, rain ticked from the loading-bay track into a row of black drops. Nuri sat at the scarred kitchen table with the house ledger open beside their municipal render deck. Teo came in from the freight door holding his wrist screen out flat. “Dennis sent me this,” he said to Cass. “He says he forwarded your contact and its relay provenance. How did you get it?”
Cass had been peeling the damp label off a canned coffee. He looked at Ondine before he looked at Teo. “Ondine kept his letter,” he said. “The relay was on it.” Ondine’s hands stayed on the contact sheet she had been trimming. “You were the one who used it.” Cass gave a short laugh that did not reach anyone. “You kept somebody else’s mail in a drawer and now I’m supposed to be the whole story?”
Teo read the screen once more, then lowered it. “That was all I needed to know,” he said, and went back through the freight door without shutting it softly. Nuri closed the ledger, not the render deck. Cass crushed the coffee can in his fist and left it on the table. Ondine slid the steel ruler along the edge of the print until it lay exactly straight.
