The arrangement neither fixes rents nor shields the blocks from a future sale. It does mean that signing together no longer carries the quiet assumption that every neighbor must stay solvent forever. The staffed desk will start printing binding lease packets for qualifying groups Monday. In several buildings, the decision has moved from something safely theoretical to something they must make.

Its first run sorted bridge plate, high-carbon rail web and weathered structural stock from a century of local removals. The yard kept a hand-pick lane open beside the automated bins.

For independent fabricators, the line should make small quantities of traceable, usable steel less erratic to find. Circular Yard said it will sell the earliest lots by the piece instead of sending them into regional construction contracts. He pays me in actual money.” Teo slid the affidavit back across the welding table. “Sign it or don’t, but if my name appears on one line of that thing, I’ll make Dennis explain to Hollis exactly whose debt he tried to buy.” He lowered his hood before Cass could decide whether to laugh.
